A goal of the spiritual life is to always hear God. Just because we have listened carefully to one thing from God does not mean that we are listening to everything God says.

The devotion of hearing
When we are "in Christ", we hear God through the devotion of hearing. What hinders us from hearing God is our attention to other things.
Lent is a good time to develop and nurture our devotion of hearing. Coming to worship is a good way to develop and nurture this devotion.
